# Mike Diener

Born and raised in New Hampshire, Mike lives in South Carolina with his wife and two children. With degrees in math education and gifted education, he has spent his entire career teaching high school math. Since 2020, he has independently published two children's books, a short story, and two novels.

I was born in New Hampshire to parents who were new Christians that recognized the importance of our family attending a Bible-preaching church. God surrounded me with countless people through my church and Christian school who loved me and pointed me to the gospel. When I was in eighth grade, God broke through my rebellious heart, and I gave my life to Him.

From my first year in high school, I knew that I wanted to be a math teacher. God confirmed that call in my life over and over and brought me to Bob Jones University in 2007 where I met my wife, Caitlin. In 2011, God directed me to take the gifts and calling He has given me into the public school. For the last fifteen years, I have taught high school math in South Carolina.

In 2020, I graduated from Converse University with a masters degree in Gifted Education. Since then, I began writing as a hobby. I have written and self-published two children's books, a short story, and a young adult fantasy series.

In our time in South Carolina, God has blessed my wife and I with two wonderful children. Being their father is simultaneously one of the greatest blessings and one of the greatest challenges of my life. They teach me every day what it means to love sacrificially and to pursue humility. Another tremendous blessing from God has been our church. We have an amazing church family that encourages us, points us to Christ, disciples us, and walks with us through the challenges we face.
