Statement of Faith

Growing Fathers exists to help Christian dads become more like Jesus and apply the Bible to parenting for the strengthening of families and churches to the glory of God.

The Bible

We believe in the verbal and plenary inspiration of the Bible, consisting of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, the Word of God, inerrant in the original writings, the complete and unalterable special revelation of God, and our final authority (Matthew 5:18; John 16:12–13; 2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21).

The Godhead

We believe in one Triune God, eternally existing in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfections. God is from everlasting to everlasting the same, the direct creator of all things, omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent (Deuteronomy 6:4; 2 Corinthians 13:14; John 4:24; Psalm 90:2; Malachi 3:6; Isaiah 44:24; Revelation 19:6; 1 John 3:20; Psalm 147:5; Psalm 139:7–10).

Jesus

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man, without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life unto the revelation of God and the redemption of man. We believe the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice. He completed our justification by His literal and physical resurrection from the dead. He ascended to heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God.

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment; He regenerates and baptizes into the body of Christ those who believe; and He indwells and seals them unto the day of redemption. The Holy Spirit endows teachers to equip the saints for the work of the ministry and bestows spiritual gifts upon believers for Christian service.

Sin

We believe sin is any failure to conform to the moral law of God in act, disposition, or nature. Man was created in the image and likeness of God; in Adam’s sin the race fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God; and man is totally depraved and unable to remedy his lost condition.

Salvation

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice for all people. All who trust Him are saved by grace through faith on the grounds of His shed blood; they are accepted in the beloved, kept by God’s power, and thus secure in Christ forever.

The Church

We believe the Church is the body and bride of Christ. It is the spiritual organism made up of all born‑again persons in this present age. It’s establishment and continuance of local churches is clearly taught and defined in the New Testament Scriptures.

Marriage

We believe that marriage is a covenant between one man and one woman. The marriage bed is sacred and sex is a gift of God between a husband and wife in the confines of marriage. We believe that the wife should love and submit to her husband as the church loves and submits to Christ. We also believe that the husband should love his wife as Christ laid down His life for the church (Ephesians 5:22-33).
