Meet the Team
I was born in Atlanta, Georgia and was blessed to grow up in a family that was filled with God’s Word. My parents gave their lives to Christ as young adults and met while serving their local church. As a young boy, I placed my faith in Christ alone and began studying God’s Word for myself. After earning a bachelor’s degree at a small Christian college in Indiana and working in a violin shop for a few years, I married my lovely wife and headed back to school in South Carolina to prepare for pastoral ministry.
After 4 years and 3 baby boys, God graciously helped me complete my seminary training and led us 2,000 miles across the country to Southern California where I now serve as an Assistant Pastor at Grace Bible Church of Menifee. My beautiful (and courageous) wife and I now have 4 active boys—Josiah, Micah, Judah, and Noah and hundreds of legos all around our house. We love to hike the hills, ride our bikes, read good books, eat ice cream, make forts, and take evening walks together as a family. I love spending time with my family, my church family, and my Savior Jesus Christ.Read John’s Writing
I grew up as a pastor's kid in Phoenix, AZ. I still remember the day I got saved. My family was cleaning up at the church when my dad turned the conversation to the gospel. I knew I was a sinner and that I deserved to go to hell. I understood that Jesus died in my place and rose again. I asked God to forgive my sin and give me eternal life, and He did!
During my teenage years, I began to be interested in full-time ministry. In college, I studied church music and also met my beautiful wife Elise. We got married in Colorado (Elise’s home state) and then moved back to AZ so that I could attend seminary. During the summers, we enjoyed serving at a Christian camp, where I preached to the juniors.
In 2014, we moved to the high desert of Southern California, where I pastored for six years at Life Point Baptist Church in Apple Valley. Then, in 2020, God called us back home to Northwest Valley Baptist Church in Glendale, AZ, where I serve as youth and discipleship pastor.
The Lord has blessed us with four excitable, adorable children—Anaya, Felicity, Mollie Jo, and Klayton. We love serving and playing together. Our lives are full, and we’re thankful!Read Kristopher’s Writing
I grew up in South Carolina as one of seven siblings and placed my faith in Christ as a small child. It was my dad who spoke the gospel to me while we kneeled by my bed one night. As I grew in my relationship with Jesus, I began to feel a clear desire to serve Him in the church through a pastoral and teaching role. After seminary I transitioned to serve as an associate pastor at Burge Terrace Baptist Church in Indianapolis.
My dearest friend on earth is my wife, Abbie. We met during her first week of college and were married December 2011. God has shown me great grace to allow me to ride the roller coaster of life alongside Abbie.
At this point in life, I’ve managed to hang on to only one hobby, running. (Actually, does coffee count?) Abbie and I have three energetic children under the age of 5. A rousing game of hide-and-seek is always a winner. We also enjoy camping as a family but do spend a lot of time discussing whether or not we should feel threatened by the raccoons. Our children have brought rich blessing to our family.Read John’s Writing
I was born in Chicago and spent my early years in Maine, Missouri, and Indiana. Early on I realized I was a sinner, in part, because I was constantly in trouble. My dad was a pastor and I heard the gospel from an early age (I certainly needed that good news!). God’s grace was especially sweet to a little boy who knew from the start he couldn't keep the Law. When I was six, I repented of my sins and believed the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Through the grace of God’s Word (and the care and prayer of my parents), God began to do a work in my heart. By the time I reached high school, God began to move me to begin sharing His good news with others. I attended college and grad school in preparation for pastoral ministry, where I met my wife, Megan. We were married in 2010 and began experiencing God’s kindness together. God has given us three children—Ella, Nora, and Jude. I currently serve as an Associate Pastor in a small mountain valley in northeast Utah. We love the outdoors, reading, and most anything together.
